DEAR ADK MEMBERS:
We have had an overwhelming response to Spring Outing and are near capacity for both the outings and the banquet. A few outings are still open, however, and there are still a few places available for the Saturday banquet. (Check online Outings Schedule for most current information.) If you would still like to register, several self-guided outings are possible on Saturday and Sunday fairly near the hotel. In addition, we are starting a waiting list of outings in case people cancel, though we can't guarantee that. If we receive your check afte the outing is completely sold out, we will, regrettably, return your check. Thank you for your support of ADK Spring Outing. ---ADK Long Island Chapter |
Whenever possible
local experts and naturalists will add an interpretive dimension. As an
example, John Turner, a noted environmentalist and co-founder of the
Pine Barrens Society, will accompany our Sunday hike in the Pine
Barrens. You also won't want to miss two social hours, Friday evening workshops given by local experts, and the
Saturday banquet with special guest speaker Dr. Kenneth Kamler, "the
Everest doctor," whose exploits were chronicled in John Krakauer's
bestseller "Into Thin Air" and in the IMAX film "Everest".![]() Sincerely, Tom Farre President, ADK Long Island Chapter |
