![]() Very few people who visit Acadia National Park see it from the water. We will paddle around Mt. Desert Island and see the awesome beauty of coastal Maine. Our trip will take us out in the open ocean, tidal marshes, coves and quaint Maine fishing harbors. You will see actual Maine lobstermen pulling traps, dramatic cliffs, Bass Harbor lighthouse and several working harbors. Sightings of harbor seals, porpoises and even whales are not uncommon. The shore birds and sea breezes will provide the soundtrack for our paddle through millions of years of geological history. This is the ultimate in sea kayaking. Approximately 5-6 hours of paddling per day should leave time to explore – by kayak or on land. This trip will have some ground support.
