Come join other ADK members on a 5 day Hut to Hut trip in the beautiful
White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our days will average 6 to 8 miles of
rugged hiking. Daily elevation gains of over
2000 feet. We will spend our evenings in the high huts where we will be
served wonderful home style dinners and in the
mornings a hearty breakfast to start the day. The trip will follow
south to north along the Appalachian Trail climbing a possible 11
mountains along the route. We will hike to Mizpah Spring, Lakes of the
Clouds, and Madison Spring Huts. Cost includes lodging, transportation
to and from trail head, and all breakfasts and dinners.

ITINERARY
Day 1, Sunday, August 10, 2008
Travel day to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center and Joe Dodge Lodge.
Meet in the living room at 5:00 PM for introductions and room
assignments. Dinner 6:00 PM
Day 2, Monday,
August 11, 2008
Meet for Breakfast. The shuttle will take us to the trailhead at
Crawford Notch. We will hike to Mizpah via the Crawford Path and Mizpah
Cutoff. Distance 2.5 miles. Hiking time is about 2 hours. After
reaching the Hut there will be an opportunity to climb Mt. Jackson.
Distance is 3.5 miles and hiking time about 2 hours. Dinner 6:00 PM
Day 3, Tuesday,
August 12, 2008
Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Hike to Lakes-of-the-Clouds Hut via the Crawford
Path including 4 summits, Mt. Pierce, Eisenhower, Franklin and Monroe.
Distance 5 miles. Time is about 5 hours. If the weather and muscles
permit, hikers may want to hike to the summit of Mt. Washington.
Dinner 6:00 PM
Day 4, Wednesday,
August 13, 2008
Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Hike to Madison Hut via the Gulfside Trail which
will include 4 summits, Clay, Jefferson, Adams and Madison. You
can do all or some of the summits. Distance 7-9 miles. Time about 7-9
Hours. This will be the most Challenging Day!! Dinner at 6:00 PM
Day 5, Thursday,
August 14, 2008
Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Spend the day at Madison Hut and enjoy the day
resting, discovering the area or hiking the summits again or those you
missed yesterday. There are many options. Dinner at 6:00 PM
Day 6, Friday,
August 15, 2008
Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Hike to Route 2 via the Valley Way or Airline
Trail, depending on the weather, to the Appalachia Parking Lot to pick
up the shuttle back to Pinkham Notch Visitors Center. Distance is 3.8
miles. Hiking time is about 3 hours. Elevation loss of 3500 feet.
We will enjoy much needed showers and our last dinner together will be
at 6:00 PM.
Day 7, Saturday,
August 16, 2008
Breakfast at 7:00 AM and our final farewells.
