DAY 1, Monday, April 28, 2008:
We rendezvous at 1:00 pm in the lobby at our Hotel in Monterosso, the most northern of the 5 villages for introductions, a trip overview, and instructions. We will take the ferry     from     Monterosso to Riomaggiore and return by train. This is a wonderful way to see the entire Cinque Terre from the viewpoint of the Sea. After our second meeting at 6:00pm, we will have a get acquainted dinner. (not included in trip price)

DAY 2, Tuesday, April 29, 2008:
Hike from Momterosso north to Levanto and return by the high trail. Hiking time 6 hr. Ascent est. 1000ft
Alternative would be after reaching Levanto, to take the train to Portofino and explore this beautiful village and countryside.

DAY 3, Wednesday, April 30, 2008:
Hike from Monterosso on trail 16 up to Colla Di Gritta, 1000 ft., then on to Foce Drignana, 1762 ft. and then down to Vernazza on the sea. Train back to Monterosso. Hiking time 5 hours. Ascent est 1762 ft.

DAY 4, Thursday, May 1, 2008:
We take the train to Riomaggiore and then take low coastal path back to Monterosso. Hiking time 5 hours. Ascent 500 ft. This is the most famous and most popular trail in Cinque Terre.

DAY 5, Friday, May 2, 2008:
We take the train to Riomaggiore. We hike the high trail to Telegrafo (1700 ft.); then to Sella La Croce and on to the high point on Mount Capri ,3110 ft. to Monte Marvede (2200 ft.) to Foce Drignana and back down to the sea at Vernazza. Train back to Monterosso. Hiking time 6-7 hours.

DAY 6, Saturday, May 3, 2008:
We take the train to Riomaggiore. Hike from Riomaggiore to Porto Venere. Hiking time 5 hours. If we have time, we can take the ferry and explore Palmaria Island. Train back to Monterosso.

DAY 7, Sunday, May 7, 2008:
We depart.
