We will visit Mizpah Spring, Lakes of the Clouds and Madison Springs Huts. We will average six to eight miles of rugged hiking with elevation gains of over 2000 feet daily. Travel is South to North along the Appalachian Trail with the chance to climb ten mountains. The high huts provide wonderful home-style dinners, hearty breakfasts and a warm bed. Price includes lodging, local transportation to and from trailhead, all breakfasts and dinners.

ITINERARY

Saturday, August 11, 2007
Travel day to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center and Joe Dodge Lodge. Meet in the living room 5:00PM for introductions and room assignments.
Dinner at 6:00PM.

Sunday, August 12, 2007
Meet for Breakfast. The hiker shuttle will take us to the trailhead at Crawford Notch. We will hike to Mizpah via the Crawford Path and Mizpah Cutoff.
Distance 2.5 miles. Time about 2 hours.
Dinner at 6:00PM.

Monday, August 13, 2007
Breakfast at 7:00AM. Hike to Lakes-of-the-Cloud Hut via the Crawford Path including 4 summits: Clinton, Eisenhower, Franklin and Monroe with possibly a 5th to Mt. Washington. Distance 5 miles. Time about 5 hours.
Dinner at 6PM.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007
Breakfast at 7:00AM. Hike to Madison Hut via the Gulfside Trail which includes once again 4 summits: Clay, Jefferson, Adams and Madison.  You can do all or some of the summits. Distance 7-9 miles. Time about 7-9 hours.
Dinner at 6:00PM.

Wednesday, August 15, 2007
Breakfast at 7:00AM. Spend the day at Madison Hut and enjoy the day resting, discovering the area or hiking the summits again or those you missed yesterday. There
are many options.

Thursday, August 16, 2007
Breakfast at 7:00AM. Hike to Route 2 via the Valley Way or Airline Trail, depending on the weather, to the Appalachia Parking Lot to pick up the shuttle back to
Pinkham Notch Visitors Center. We will enjoy much needed showers and our last dinner.
Dinner at 6:00PM.

Friday, August 17, 2007
Breakfast at 7:00AM, and our final farewells.
