demo The Canadian Rockies provide some of the most spectacular scenery in North America.  This trip features nine alpine day hikes ranging in length from 6 to 12 miles.  During these hikes or on the way from and to our rendezvous point in Calgary, Alberta, Canada you will visit Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, Columbia Icefield/ Athabasca Glacier, the Icefields Parkway, a tea house at 6800 feet and Miette Hot Springs for an evening soak.  The jagged peaks with their snow, ice and glaciers will be your daily backdrop for this trip.  It will be early fall when the elk are in rut and foliage is beginning to change.  We may even get an early snowfall.  Optional rest days are available.  Our accommodations will be double occupancy in Calgary, Lake Louise, Jasper and at a backcountry lodge (Shadow Lake Lodge), 9 miles from the nearest road.  Meals will be taken where we stay or at restaurants in the towns.

This trip mixes strenuous daily activity with comfortable accommodations and excellent meals.  While it is for experienced hikers in good physical condition, it is not necessary to participant in all scheduled activities.

Price of $1250  ($75 nonrefundable) includes:  All lodging, rental vehicles (12-passenger van and sedan), fuel, park fees, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinners.  Not included:  Remaining meals, optional tours and transportation to/from Calgary.  Trip size is limited to 12, including the leader.
