Hike hut to hut in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, visiting Greenleaf, Galehead and Zealand Falls huts. We will average 6 to 8 miles of rugged hiking with elevation gains of over 2000 feet daily. Travel is South to North along the Appalachian Trail with the chance to climb 6 mountains along Franconia and Garfield Ridges with magnificent views of the Pemigewasset Wilderness.
On the first day we will meet at Joe Dodge Lodge at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center for orientation and our first dinner. The following morning, after a good night's rest and a hearty breakfast, the hiker shuttle will take us to the trail head at Lafayette Place Campground. We will hike to Greenleaf Hut via the Old Bridle Path. The next day we will climb Mounts Lafayette and Garfield on our way to Galehead Hut, which is the most remote of all the huts and commands a great view of the Pemigewasset Wilderness, a federally designated wilderness area. The next morning we are off to our final hut, Zealand Falls. At 2700 feet, this is the lowest of the high huts.
We will overnight in the high huts where we will be served wonderful homestyle dinners and in the mornings a hearty breakfast to start the day. Price of $525 ($100 non-refundable) includes lodging, local transportation to trailhead, all breakfasts and dinners.
